Latina Resource Center: Domestic violence supportive services that targets Hispanic women. Provides onsite, comprehensive, bilingual, bicultural services to victims of domestic violence in the Latina community. Bilingual services available for domestic violence and sexual assault education and advocacy services for adults, youth and teens.
Immigration Legal Services: Provides low cost immigration legal services to Latina Resource Center client-victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other serious crimes in the Milwaukee area.
Workforce Development: Provides a number of workforce development programs through Milwaukee Job Center Southeast, a comprehensive one-stop that is part of the Milwaukee Job Center Network. Through the Job Center, UMOS and several public and nonprofit partner agencies offer multiple programs and services geared toward moving individuals into employment and reducing their dependence on government assistance. UMOS has extensive experience administering a variety of workforce development programs and services. This experience includes working closely with individuals and families who face barriers to finding and keeping stable employment. They may have limited English-speaking proficiency, a poor work history, physical or mental health challenges, low levels of job skills or education, or other factors which impede their ability to become self-sufficient through their own resources.
Education: Provides basic education to academically and economically disadvantaged adults and youth who desire to progress through life by improving their basic education level. Programs inlcude Basic Skills Education Classes GED/HSED Preparation; English as a Second Language (ESL) classes; Literacy Skills Development; and Adult Basic Education in Spanish.
