Mental Health America of Wisconsin presents and Information Session on
Stress, Depression and Mindfulness
When stress starts to build up we often react in ways that hinder our health and recovery. We may try to avoid, ignore, deny, or talk ourselves out of it. In addition, if we are managing depression and anxiety these ways of reacting to stress can make it worse. Mindfulness is a tool that offers another approach. It is the awareness that emerges from purposeful, non-judgmental paying attention to what is. Practicing mindfulness can prevent unhappiness and stressors from spiraling down into deeper depression.
