Community Resources for Mental Health Crisis Management

Approximately 1 in 5 adults experience mental illness in a given year and approximately 1 in 5 youth experiences a severe mental disorder at some time in their life (NAMI, 2015). With the closure of inpatient health facilities, clients are left wondering where to go for care and health care providers are scrambling to find community resources for clients. This educational session will examine the effect that lack of access can have on clients and provide insight to community resources that are emerging in the Milwaukee area.
